I quickly snapped this photo a few weeks ago when I saw this man’s briefcase. Swoon. I remember it was a particularly dreary day and there must have been a conference or meeting of some sort because as I walked home from work I got stuck behind a group of men in typical (rather boring) business suits. Nothing special. They all had the same style and all carried similar briefcases (plain black or brown, traditional, remember we’re talking drab old style)… except for this one man. With his beautifully different, printed, colorful briefcase. Just one fish swimming against the tide.
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
You’re half way there! And for that you deserve a total fan girl (or boy, no judgement here!) moment to enjoy. I may or may not have a slight celeb crush on Jen, so if you’re with me… you’re in luck.
I saw another fun quiz this weekend and obviously immediately dropped everything and took it…
Which Jennifer Lawrence are you? I got short hair J. Law… interesting. Find out which one you are!
So seriously, let’s recap how great she is.

Confession: Sometimes I plan what my home will look like after I move out of my scungy college apartment. I’m always drawn to cool bar carts that can be neatly set up for any occasion, or no occasion at all and just look quite nice. Maybe that’s really weird? Maybe it’s not. Either way, still leaves me scouring the internet for inspiration of what I want mine to look like.
1. This cool green cart, upcycled by the lovely ladies over at ABM is kind of perfect and could be done in any color for your home! 2. This cart from Society Social was beautifully decorated by Nicole on So Haute. I love how classy and girly she styled it.
This doesn’t even scratch the surface of ideas floating around in my head.
…and then once you’ve finally settled on which cart you want, of course you have to sock it with the best of the essentials… Oh the possibilities! They’re endless.
Do you have a cool bar cart in your home? Or are you looking for insporation like me? Show me your photos or inspo!
Just wanted to share an outfit post today. On top I’m wearing a basic black v-neck sweater and a forest green blazer. On bottom I’m wearing a simple boot-cut blue jean with polka dotted almond toe flats. I paired a layered gold chain and purple beaded necklace with the outfit as well as a gold studded black bag. Currently, I’m loving gold accessories and blazers so this one was fun to wear and I even got to mix it up with some color (I love wearing black but a girl needs good color in her life too).
I wore this outfit for a site visit last week and to a couple casual meetings with classmates and coworkers. You could easily dress this up more with heels and fitted jeans or pants.
Blazer & Necklace: New York & Co. Sweater & Jeans: American Eagle. Flats: Forever 21. Purse: Alyssa.
How would you wear this pretty green blazer?
Like many others, Morgantown was hit with a little snowstorm yesterday. I guess if I kept up with the weather I would’ve known to expect this but because I usually just refer to my window/balcony to determine what to wear, you can imagine my surprise waking up to a solid five inches on the ground! The snow continued to fall and by the end of the day we had around nine inches!
This is more snow than Morgantown has had in a long while. The university honestly doesn’t close for weather too often so I still had to trek to my morning class but lucky for me, after lunch I got two class cancellation emails and my school day turned into a snow day! Cue the perfect snow day! I made a beeline for my PIC. I knew she’d be down for adventurous fun.
We crossed off two things on our WVU bucket list… 1. Go sledding through the hills and streets of Morgantown (so what if it was on a cookie sheet? College is all about the imagination and improvising, right?) and 2. Make snow angels in front of Woodburn Hall (probably the most famous and picturesque building on campus)
Definitely one of the best snow days ever. Did you get hit with the snow? What is one of your most memorable snow days?
Family. Family. Family.
This week’s challenge is one that means a lot to me. Family is everything. They’ve made so many things possible for me. I’m so so so grateful and blessed to have them. We drive each other crazy but I love them to the moon and back! P.S. Yes, in case you were wondering, we did take a family selfie this summer and no, we aren’t the least bit ashamed to say so!
Family isn’t just blood. My family extends to friends, too. Many are close friends I’ve had since childhood, now scattered about the north east, and many are new since coming to school. Make new friends but keep the old. Right? These three are some of my greatest friends and they keep me grounded when I’m away from my real family, nine months of the year. These are my people, my family, we mesh. We’ve grown a lot together and I can’t wait to see where our paths lead us.
This will be forever one of my favorites.

Kudos to the artist that made it into this really simple, pretty wall art.
