Happy Monday Everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are feeling refreshed and ready to dive into another busy week. This weekend was definitely needed. Kicked it off a little early on Thursday with a watch party for the season premier of Scandal. Do any of you watch? This season is about to be crazy. One of my roommates and best friends turned the lovely 22 this weekend… naturally we celebrated with karaoke night and sang T.Swift. Took a day trip to Pittsburgh to catch up with some great friends at The Cheesecake Factory (first time dining there for this gal and I’ll admit it lived up to the hype). Finished the weekend with an absolutely amazing show performed by Old Crow Medicine Show and The Avett Brothers. (eeeeeep!) I’m still dreaming of the sheer talent that every single one of them possesses. They demand your attention with pure energy and entertainment. And I’ve never seen anyone completely rock out with banjos, cellos, harmonicas, and violins like they did. My kind of people. Any big Avett and OCMS fans out there?
Welcome back for another fine week!
Here are some snapshots from this fun, busy weekend…
Made some delicious chili and grilled cheese.
Lucky me, I received a personalized Fiesta mug from the wonderful people over at Homer Laughlin China Co.
Quick glimpse of an outfit post coming later this week.
Finished binge watching season 3 of Homeland… mind blown.
The family bought the first of two kayaks and Romey already paddled a 20 mile sojourn… such an explorer.
Toured the Homer Laughlin China Co. facilities and learned how it’s all made.
This weekend was filled with friends, food, and adventure. It started off with a trip to Newell, WV to visit the Homer Laughlin China plant where a few classmates and I toured the manufacturing process, their gorgeous showroom and learned a lot about the company. They even surprised us with personalized mugs! Big thank you to everyone there that made the trip so wonderful! Spent lots of time on the couch all snuggled up with warm tea to pass the cold snowy hours. A friend and I ventured to make homemade chili for the first time. I’ll admit, we did a pretty great job if I do say so myself. Add in a few meetings, time with friends and lots of dancing and we can call it a weekend.
Hope you all are ready for a fantastic week! I’d love to hear how you spent your weekend!
To start off this week, I’ll recap my crazy busy weekend I’ve had here in sweet old Morgantown. This weekend was WVU’s homecoming weekend, so there were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. We kicked off Friday with our annual Business and Economics Student Olympics. Basically, it’s an excuse for the business students and faculty to run around the lawn competing in silly games and eating delicious BBQ.
So here’s how it went down:
Dean Sartarelli lights the infamous B&E Olympic torch
And then there are all sorts of fun games like pony express, hula hooping, minute-to-win-it challenges and cow milking contests… just to name a few
A feast of totally delicious Martin’s Bar-B-Que comes next (seriously, go grab a bite if there are any locations near you!)
After a few more team games and relays, points are totaled and winners are announced… We racked up a whopping 35 points (not so whopping at all, but rather quite sad compared to totals in the 500s). Nonetheless, we had a great time. And what college student/ faculty member doesn’t love spending a beautiful Friday afternoon running around like kids again? Big thank you and shout out to our beautiful and crazy Marketing Club team!
The rest of my weekend consisted of college football, tailgating (with lots of good friends and food, of course), meeting past WVU alumni and quality roommate time, followed by a Sunday filled with meetings, interviews and group projects.
Here’s to another busy week, enjoy!
